This OEM System Builder Channel software requires the assembler to provide end user support for the Windows software and cannot be transferred to another computer once it is installed. To acquire Windows software with support provided by Microsoft please see our full package "Retail" product offerings.

Looking for your product key? The product key is a 25-digit string with a hyphen between each 5 digits. It will say "Product Key" before 25 digits or have an image of a key next to 10 digits with the remaining 15 on the next line below. The Product Key is generally located in the lower left corner of the DVD case, on the disc itself, or on a leaflet in the packaging you received.

Basically, you need Windows Internet Explorer to do business transactions with, e. g., certain car insurance companies. If you are not using Internet Explorer from Microsoft when you go to these web sites, they will tell you they can't do business with you. So, that makes recent Windows some kind of a must have for your pc.

If you object to becoming part of their cloud for, say, privacy reasons, and you manage to install Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 using the old-fashioned Windows 7 local, non-cloud password, that will work. But Microsoft recently decreed that you must use the Microsoft cloud name/password to log in to the apps on your computer. That is my idea of invasion of privacy, although lots of people think that going around with all kinds of dissimilar name and password pairs in your mind is perfectly all right, and doesn't constitute an imposition and needless clutter. Probably the easiest Windows install I've ever done, and I've been installing Windows since 3.0. I was able to get this running on a Mac no less (running on Oracle Virtual Box). The new GUI takes some getting used to, though, but only a day.

Well, I got this OS because of Microsoft making it difficult to keep XP Pro.
I'm keeping my XP Pro because it is more stable then anything they put out since 98 SE.
I found a program that is free and will keep my XP up to date.
This OS has a learning curve. After I got the "start" button back, it was a lot easier to learn.
Microsoft changed things that were unnecessary. It's ok to make the OS better and safer, but changing
the User Friendly side of the OS was a big mistake. I expect that MS will put out another fix. This one has the .1 added
maybe the next one will be .2. Better to issue a new version that keep upgrading.
You need at least 4 gig of ram to get it to run efficiently and more is recommended.
I'm glad the auto makers are not like MS. Every time the car stalls they would make you buy a new one.
Again! Not enough words.... Ok how about la la la la la.
