5.0 out of 5 stars Still better than Windows 8, February 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging) (Software)
My computer came with Windows 8. I was disappointed, because 8 looked really stupid. No more start menu, the introduction of the Windows App Store on desktops (cause that's exactly where you want easy access to questionable software sources), the weird compatibility issues, and the nearly impossible to decipher "User Friendly" experience when I, a tech guy, just want to change a friggin setting! Sorry. Anyway, I dumped 8, formatted it clean off my computer. And because new computers do not come with installation CDs anymore (another stupid idea, but in this instance kind of a relief, actually) there would be no reinstalling 8. I originally wanted a computer with Windows 7. I was familiar with it enough to know my way around its stupid "User Friendly"-ness, and knew it would be compatible with EVERYTHING I needed. Unfortunately, tech support for folks who are not fans of 8 is a joke. Called Microsoft, and they said manufacturers provide a Windows 7 installation for... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The best OS (in my opinion), February 20, 2014
This review is from: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging) (Software)
Well, i'm a gamer and a graphic designer and at some of you may know that a computer that use for graphic work require a lot of RAM so i go ahead and buy this version so i can run 64gb of RAM on my pc, yes, my motherboard is socket LGA 2011( home premium only support 16gb and professional don't let me run on the language of my choice).
This's an OEM version and you should do a clean install on your new or custom build pc.
A few thing to consider before you buy this product
1: do you really need all the feature that window 7 ultimate offer?
2: do you know how to do a clean installation of this OS on your new pc
3: don't buy this version of OS just to brag that your pc have W 7 ultimate on it( i seen more than a few people done that and when i ask them why do they need W 7 ultimate, their answer is because they want it...., stupid people wasted their money)

If you don't know how to do a clean installation of window, i include a link to a YouTube video... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Dump Windows 8 -- Head for the Hills!!, February 22, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging) (Software)
This is the last good version of Windows, folks! Moving to Windows 8 is basically forcing you to join Microsoft Live and sharing your data with the world. No, we think we'll stick to a non-cloud, real operating system. The only real thing Ultimate has over other versions of Windows 7 is the bitlocker technology, which encrypts your drive data in case of theft, etc..
